      The College of Management is an AACSB accredited research-oriented institution, the first in Taiwan to receive such an accreditation. It attracts many outstanding scholars, overseas and domestic alike, to work in the College's research and teaching environment.

Mission

The mission of the College of Management is to cultivate academic research, develop top managerial talents with global perspectives, and promote sustainable social responsibility in collaboration with academic, business, and societal stakeholders.
 

Strategic Goals

Our College formulates and implements policies to carry out our strategic goals aimed at boosting globalization. We foresee to build up a campus with ethical diversity as well as to nurture competitive talents in a rapidly changing global business environment. Our College has actively established financial operations mechanisms, integrated operations, and faculty & staff development, and strengthens industrial collaborations and business partnerships. To carry out the fundamental policies effectively, we have set up five-fold strategic goals:

  1. Develop An Admirable Research Environment: In line with our mission, we promote and maintain our research environment quality and encourage faculty members to publish research in top-tier journals.
  2. Encourage Teaching Innovation: Through innovative teaching approaches, we guide students enjoy the opportunities appertaining to the front edge knowledge and do business practices, equip students with ethical perspectives, leadership, communication, problem solving, and teamwork in a globalized environment.
  3. Create an International-Friendly Campus: We focus on developing a campus with diverse ethnic backgrounds and provide decent English-taught programs and courses that promote the academic research and personal growth of faculty and students.
  4. Encourage Entrepreneurship and Interdisciplinary Cooperation: We foster the trends of innovative entrepreneurship and internationally faculty cooperation in business and management domains. Our College cooperates with industry, provides interdisciplinary cooperation opportunities, and work together in creating new knowledge and innovative thinking.

Learningl Goals

In line with our missions and vision, our College aims to cultivate our students into leaders with global perspectives who bear ethical values in minds constantly, communicate effectively, solve problems logically, and work with practitioners with their professional knowledge in an admirable ethical business environment. To fulfill this, we have set up five-fold educational goals:

  1. Ethics and Social Responsibility Practices: Educate students to abide by business ethics and professional conducts, to demonstrate social care, and to enact social responsibility practices.
  2. Communication Skills: Train students with sophisticated communication skills
  3. Problem Solving Skills: Cultivate students with adequate problem solving skills
  4. Professional Expertise: Polish students with professional knowledge and competence
  5. Global Visions: Nurture students with global viewpoints and perspectives.
Alumni
      The College has more than 16,000 alumni till now. About half of our alumni have stayed in Southern Taiwan to become a major human resource force in the local economy, while the other part expands its outreach in other parts or overseas. Because of our high selectivity of students, our alumni perform very well in their careers. The EMBA alumni are particularly influential due to their strong background. For instance, the mayors of Kaohsiung and Pintung Cities are both alumni of the College, as are many business CEO’s in southern Taiwan are also our alumni.

Moreover, EMBA was assessed as the first place with the highest score in Taiwan in the Satisfaction Survey from alumni, 2015.

About National Sun Yat-sen University

      National Sun Yat-sen University (NSYSU) was established in Kaohsiung city, Taiwan, in 1980, and was named in honor of Dr. Sun Yet-sen, the founding father of the Republic of China (Taiwan). Situated alongside the Kaohsiung Harbor, NSYSU campus faces the open waters of the Taiwan Strait and sits against the Longevity Mountain, providing its faculty and students a spectacular setting and a serene environment to conduct research and studies.

      The University consists of 6 colleges, including Liberal Arts, Sciences, Engineering, Management, Social Sciences, and Marine Sciences, and offers 21 Bachelor, 38 Master and 27 Doctoral programs. There are currently more than 460 full-time faculty members and close to 10,000 students enrolled. There are nearly 400 international students as the university has many courses taught in English. Our university is the major knowledge center for business, industries, governmental agencies and individuals in the region and a leading university in Taiwan.

About Kaohsiung City

Kaohsiung is the second largest city with a population of 1.5 million, and the largest manufacturing center in Taiwan. It is also the world’s 13th largest container port and Taiwan’s largest international commercial harbor. The harbor city is an important trade and commerce stop along the Northeast Asia / South Pacific passageway, and this niche has propelled the city into an international one. Kaohsiung is also a city of beauty, culture and entertainment. The Love River, Sizehwan Bay, Pier-2 Arts Center, various shopping malls and night markets, all serve visitors to Kaohsiung with a wonderful and unforgettable experience.
